I love your church. The times I have visited there, everyone has been so warm and friendly and genuine that I felt truly welcome. I especially love that your church welcomes people of all gender identities and expressions, and all sexual orientations, just as Jesus would have done. I don't feel comfortable worshipping in churches where my GLBT friends, relatives and coworkers are not fully included or are pressured to change to be accepted. I hope you will continue to fly your rainbow flag. It identifies your church as a safe space for everyone.
So disappointed to see the gay flag on your church. I cannot support or visit your congregation in the future.
Our decision to become "open and affirming" was done with due diligence, aided by the help of the United Church of Christ, and a vote by the entire church membership. We believe that Jesus did not turn anyone away and it is not our place to "judge". We leave that to God. Ours is a church that makes EVERYONE welcome.
The rainbow is a symbol of God's Covenant--for ALL people. Each one of us a loved child of God, precious in His sight!
I just read the PedoPepe666 and Sonshine Morning reviews written a few weeks ago. How sad you feel that way.
